Buddhism collage

This is a piece of work I created as part of a group during my first year of University. It was inspired by Buddhism and the visual stigma that surrounds it. This concept came to us after a visit to the Pitt Rivers museum in Oxford where we came across several statues of religious figures,

including Buddha.

 

These statues left us feeling inspired to create a series of collages surrounding the background of the artefacts. We collectively experimented with layering the letters and images on top of one another which lead us to this final result. The snippets of type displayed on top of the collage are The Five Precepts of Buddhism.
